Website Tips and Tricks

Hello and welcome to website tips from myself webmaster Dan Land . I strongly believe that creation or design without solutions is nothing. Design a great website based on four (4) basic principles of design and see the differnece today.
- Contrast ( balance, difference, attraction, appeal )
- Proximity ( group, structure. clarity )
- Alignment ( order, organization, visual connection)
- Repetition ( identity, relationship, unity )
Contrast - A good example of contrast would be placing white text on a black background. A difference between color well enough to create contrasting balance. Dark colors on light colors or vice versa.
Proximity - This is when related items are placed in the same area to create structure. For instance, multimedia content, placing music, video audio and all media related items in the same area. The content could consist of any topic as long as we group items as best as possible for page structure.
Alignment - Placing items in order. Aligning items to maintain visual order. A great example of alignment would be the top edge of three pictures, creating an invisible line of vision. Always find another item to align an item with somewhere on the page to maintain a straight line of vision for clarity and clean pages.
Repetition - Identifying marks to create unity and relationship on each web page to show that the page belong to the web site. A logo at the left top corner of each page would exemplify repetition. It would show the relationship of each page to the website..
If these four ( 4 ) basic principles of design are used when designing or creating a website. Web pages will appear clear, clean and attractive to your visitors. Websites look organized and balanced.
Remember, when designing great websites, the webmaster is in charge of creation and design. The webmaster could bend these basic rules of design or ignore them all together if it will make for a great website design.
A great website always consist of these four basic principles of design.
