KAMMAL SMITH, LARRY COLLINS AND THEIR STEADY STEPPERS DANCE ORGANIZATION HOST THE 2008 LAS VEGAS WEEKEND JAM II ON OCTOBER 3 - 5 IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA |
Las Vegas, Nevada (July 29, 2008) - In two months Kammal Smith, Larry Collins and their Steady Steppers Dance Institute will convene for their 2nd annual dance extravaganza, the 2008 Las Vegas Weekend Jam II, October 3rd - 5th, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada for a Steppin', Ballroom, Hand Dance, Bop and Line Dance Affair. A TRUE DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA. The host hotel, where all events will be held, is the Tuscany Suites & Casino located at 255 E. Flamingo Rd. only ½ mile from the famous 'Las Vegas Strip'. Chicago Steppin', Detroit Ballroom, Bop and Line Dance music will be played for the dancers in attendance to this elegant and exciting weekend event. For the uninformed, Steppin' and Ballroom are danced to the same music while Bop and Hand Dance are danced to the same music. Line Dancers adapt to any and every type of music. 'Urban' club style partnered dancing and 'soul' line dancing are two of the most popular aspects of Black America's social climate. DJ's will provide a music genre of Steppin', Soul, Smooth Jazz and R & B for partnered and line dancers to satisfy their dance quest.
There will be a diverse dance community as attendees from 15 - 20 states will participate in three days of dancing, dance workshops and fun that addresses this year's theme of 'Viva Las Vegas Weekend Jam II'. Among the many advantages of this event is the opportunity it allows individuals to view different urban partnered dance art forms, different 'Soul' Line Dances and to network, interact and actively dance with people from different cities across the nation celebrating and uniting through dance. Additionally, the weekend includes dance workshops, one included in the weekend package; a lavish buffet on Saturday; a location, within walking distance of the Las Vegas Strip, with amenities and a beautiful atmosphere that includes a swimming pool, a fitness room, five restaurants and a casino with over 800 games to chose from."A key feature of this event is the diverse audience that will be in attendance." said Larry Collins, President of The Steady Steppers Dance Institute. "The most important attribute of our event are the people that will be attending. For three days we can forget about all of the things that make us different and concentrate on one of the things that make us the same! WE ARE DANCERS! We have people coming from all over the U.S., thus there will be a very diverse gathering of people from all walks of life with a common goal of uniting and having fun through dance. We presently have dancers registered from the states of California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Washington coming to Las Vegas the first weekend in October and we are prepared to host a festive, fun vacation of dance."
"For some, this will be their first time to experience Las Vegas and for sure, if you are a
serious dancer or just getting into dancing and want the greatest possible degree, quality and intensity of dance fun, the 'spot to be' during the October 3rd through 5th weekend is the 2008 Las Vegas Weekend Jam II at the Tuscany Suites & Casino. We have acquired a 7,700 square foot ballroom with a 1,440 square foot dance floor for spaciousness and dance room. The Tuscany has the size, facilities, closeness to the 'Strip' and the amenities to host our annual Las Vegas Weekend Jam's for years to come.""Another key feature at this event is the dance workshop offerings." he added. "We have dance workshop offerings in Chicago Step, Detroit Ballroom, Detroit Bop and 'Soul' Line Dance taught by some of the most respected and sought after instructors in their respective dance art forms today."
Advanced registration ends on August 31st. Albert Ebo, the Event Coordinator, can be contacted at (248) 569-2402 or AlbertEbo@msn.com to address any questions.
